Clio Art Fair Provides a Platform for Independent Artists

Art fairs are integral to the organic growth of the art market. They are often seen as an opportunity for artists to expand their outreach, gain recognition, and make important connections. The conflict of wanting to stay authentic and having to make art that brings profit at the same time is something all artists are familiar with. Fortunately, there are spaces where artists can relieve themselves of that pressure. Clio Art Fair is an art fair that defies the expectations that come with the constant necessity to create marketable art. It is a fair specifically targeting independent artists who don’t have long-term gallery representation.

Clio Art Fair Provides a Platform for Independent Artists

Clio Art Fair positions itself as an anti-fair. It is an event that allows independent artists from all walks of life not only to find potential clients but also to showcase their authentic artistic vision. Clio Art Fair is supported by HYDRA Art Project Inc., an art management company based in New York City, which aims to create platforms for important conversations that reach across all borders and constraints. One of the things that distinguish Clio from other art fairs is that the artists exhibiting there are not represented by galleries, which allows for a freer exchange between them and collectors.

With a focus on established independent artists from all over the world, Clio Art Fair provides a space where creativity thrives beyond the regular art fair format. This year, the fair’s theme is “What’s Your Fight?” By asking that question, Clio Art Fair invites its participants to explore the effect conflicts have on people’s lives, be they interpersonal issues or something as major as war. Among exhibiting artists are Michael Alfano, Camilla Ancilotto, John Denis, Tali Almong, Denise Cooperman, and many other notable figures. The art show expects to host 50 exhibitors and around 4,000 visitors.

As an event that values innovation, Clio became the first to accept cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin as payment.
