Shipping artworks by prominent international artists is always an exclusive privilege that we enormously enjoy. Not long ago, Fine Art Shippers had the pleasure to ship paintings by the Russian artist Vladimir Yankilevsky from Los Angeles to Europe. Large-scale pieces required gentle care and pinpoint accuracy, but shipping paintings overseas is not new for our team of dedicated art handlers, so we coped with the task in the best possible way.
Shipping Paintings Overseas: Artworks by Vladimir Yankilevsky
Vladimir Yankilevsky was a notable figure in the world of Soviet and Russian art. He was best known for his series of triptychs, perplexing mixed-media artworks filled with ambiguity and uncertainty. Being a unique combination of painting and sculpture, this series brought him international fame and earned him the name of one of the most influential post-war painters in Russia.
The distinguished artist was born on 15 February 1938 in Moscow into an artist’s family. As a young boy, he learned art at the Moscow Middle Art School and then entered the Moscow Print Industry Institute from where he graduated in 1962. Vladimir Yankilevsky was a member of the so-called Soviet Nonconformist Art movement that lasted from the 1960s through the 1980s. The painter passed away on 4 January 2018 in Paris where he lived with his wife, Rima.
Shipping paintings overseas is not the same as shipping art interstate. To ensure the safety of Vladimir Yankilevsky’s masterpieces during international transportation, we used durable custom crates designed to withstand transit vibration and moisture. It was a long way from Los Angeles to Europe, so we had a special responsibility to guarantee the integrity of the artworks during the entire trip.
At Fine Art Shippers, we are ready to rise to any art shipping & handling challenges. We ship paintings by both emerging and world-famous artists worldwide. Shipping paintings overseas is a difficult task, but with us, you can forget about shipping stress forever.
