Lori Horowitz is an acclaimed multidisciplinary artist from New York, whose work cannot be defined within the strict limits of one genre. Throughout her life, the artist closely interacted with various forms of artistic expression, accumulating skills and knowledge that she now uses to create complex and intricate pieces. Horowitz’s sculptures, installations, and paintings are maximalist and pertain to her perception of the world around her. The human experience of loneliness and isolation, pertinent social issues, and nature – all inspire the artist to create poignant and expressive works of art. Today, we are happy to share the news about the four new art exhibitions where you can see Lori Horowitz’s artworks.
Lori Horowitz: New Art Exhibitions in New York and New Jersey to Visit
In Uniondale, NY, art lovers have a chance to see multiple pieces by Lori Horowitz, including her mixed media series “Exodus.” The works are featured at the group exhibition titled “Presence: Extraordinary Figurative Art,” which is held by the Omni Gallery. When the pandemic hit, the artist turned to nature for inspiration and found it in root formations with their unique anthropomorphic shapes, which resulted in “Exodus,” a series of drawings and sculptural pieces. The works are on view at the Omni Gallery, 333 Earle Ovington Blvd, Uniondale, NY, through February 28, 2024.
If you are in NYC, you still have time to visit “Abstract/Abstraction” held in Long Island City. Horowitz’s installation piece from the “Beauty from Decay” series is featured alongside other contemporary abstract works of art. The show is on view at the LIC-A Art Space, Suite 105a, 30-30 47th Ave, until November 22.
The Belskie Museum of Art & Science in Closter, NJ, is currently hosting an art exhibition by the New York Society of Women Artists (NYSWA). Lori Horowitz’s 3-D mixed-media pieces celebrating the precious beauty of the natural world fit perfectly with the theme of “The Gift” exhibition. Timed to the Thanksgiving season, it is on view through November 26.
Finally, on November 30, “Perfect 10” will open at the Long Island Museum. Organized by LIMarts, this event will feature over a hundred artists. The show is dedicated to the late artist and the founding member of LIMarts, Irene Ruddock. For “Perfect 10,” Lori Horowitz provided a sculpture from her art series “From the Earth.” “Perfect 10” will be open at the Long Island Museum, 1200 Route, 25A, Stony Brook, NY, until December 17.
