The Marciano Art Foundation in Los Angeles, CA

If you love contemporary art, Los Angeles is a great city to visit. It is home to the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (MOCA), the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), The Broad, and a whole range of amazing fine art galleries, such as the Bruce Lurie Gallery, David Kordansky Gallery, and Regen Projects. Plus, Los Angeles is home to the Marciano Art Foundation, a gorgeous contemporary art space located right in the heart of the city.

The Marciano Art Foundation (MAF) is a non-profit arts foundation that was established in 2017 by two brothers, Paul and Maurice Marciano, who are also the co-founders of the renowned American clothing brand Guess. Housed in the former Scottish Rite Masonic Temple, MAF has a large permanent exhibition space featuring 110,000 sq. ft. over four floors and an impressive sculpture garden by the entrance.

Aimed at enhancing and contributing to the artistic activity in Los Angeles, MAF offers thoughtful presentations of the Marciano Art Collection that contains approximately 1,500 works by emerging, mid-career, and well-established artists, predominantly from the 1990s to the present day. These include artworks by Jeff Koons, Gerhard Richter, Mark Bradford, Takashi Murakami, Yayoi Kusama, Anish Kapoor, George Condo, KAWS, Ai Weiwei, and many other talented contemporary artists. Besides, the Marciano Art Foundation is known for its active educational program for students of all ages.

If you are going to visit Los Angeles, we highly recommend that you spend some time in this outstanding private museum of contemporary art. Moreover, admission to MAF is free of charge.
