Three-Dimensional Art and Design at SOFA Chicago
SOFA (Sculpture Objects Functional Art and Design) is an annual fair dedicated to three-dimensional art and design. Produced by Clarion Events, the same company that organizes TEFAF Maastricht and Art Basel, SOFA is known worldwide for its exceptional, custom-designed gallery presentation of one-of-a-kind works that cross the boundaries of art and design.
SOFA Chicago was launched in 1993, with the first fair held at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers. Two years later, the fair moved to Festival Hall at Navy Pier, a historic 3,300-foot-long pier located on the Chicago shoreline of Lake Michigan, where it has been held annually in the fall ever since. The 2019 edition is no exception. SOFA will start its four-day run at Navy Pier on October 31, with approximately 80 galleries presenting the best sculptural and design pieces. Besides, in addition to the showcase of masterworks, SOFA Chicago 2019 will feature a series of lectures and other programs surveying the latest trends in the art world. Plus, museum groups, high-profile gallery clients, and other VIP guests will be able to attend some exclusive events unavailable to the general public.
