The final exhibition day of the 2024 edition of Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary (PBM+C) is approaching. Fine Art Shippers attended the event and thoroughly enjoyed the amazing selection of artworks from local, national, and international galleries and dealers. We could not leave this truly grandiose show without highlighting artists whose work we loved most. Among them are some of the most reputable modern and contemporary artists.
Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary 2024: Our Personal Highlights
Fernando Botero
Fernando Botero, the legend of figurative art, unfortunately, passed away last year. Nonetheless, his work continues to be in high demand among collectors and never fails to draw attention anywhere it appears. Mostly known for his sculptures depicting voluptuous people and animals, the Columbian artist was also an incredibly prolific painter who never shied away from controversial topics. At PBM+C, Botero’s sculptures and paintings were presented by several galleries, including Latin Art Core, Ascaso Gallery, and David Benrimon Fine Art.
Oswaldo Guayasamin
Oswaldo Guayasamin was a pivotal figure in Latin American art. In his murals and paintings, he addressed political and social issues faced by the Indigenous people of his home region. Guayasamin was also one of the first artists of Indigenous descent to create anti-colonialist art. One of his most well-known pieces is a large-scale mural dedicated to the centuries-long history of suffering and pain of Latin American peoples.
Keith Haring
PBM+C 2024 features a significant number of household-name artists. One of them is Keith Haring, the forefather of Pop Art. His highly recognizable visual language and dedication to raising awareness for AIDS and safe sexual practices have earned him a large following of loyal fans.
Salvo
An iconic conceptual artist from Italy, Salvo created mystical, atmospheric landscape pieces. A master of color and light, he never sought to achieve perfection in his artwork. Instead, Salvo aimed to transfer his unique relationship with nature onto canvas in the most genuine way possible.
Laurie Frick
Laurie Frick represents a new generation of artists who integrate technology into their artistic practice. Her body of work is often called “data art” because she creates geometric art based on the data she collected about herself. In Frick’s art, technology and impartial data become personal and emotional.
It was a real pleasure for our team to attend Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary 2024, and we look forward to visiting the show again next year.
