The main tools of the artist are his powerful imagination and his flexible and open mind. In his work, Artem combines things that you would never imagine seeing together: for example, an ancient Egyptian pharaoh and a UFO. For Mirolevich, his canvas is a playground where he masterfully creates new wondrous words using various philosophies and worldviews as building blocks. Artem Mirolevich moved with his family from Minsk, Belarus, to the United States when he was 17 years old. The time he spent receiving his education in New York and then living in the Netherlands for a semester turned out to be formative for him in terms of his artistic vision. Inspired by the architectural landscape of Amsterdam, Artem created one of his first works depicting the post-apocalyptic version of the city.
“Time Spiral” seems to be a fitting name for the new mixed media art exhibition by Artem Mirolevich. It perfectly encapsulates the other-worldly feeling of the featured pieces that seem to exist outside of the constraints of time and space. Artem’s love for traveling and exploring other cultures is often reflected in his work. One cannot help but want to be part of the miraculous worlds he creates. Mirolevich is not only a talented artist but also an exceptional storyteller. Where is this flying ship heading? What secrets hide inside this heart-shaped underwater structure? The viewers are invited to be curious and ask questions about the inner structure of the complex worlds created by the talented artist.
Artem Mirolevich is an acclaimed artist whose artworks have been exhibited at over a hundred galleries, museums, and art fairs in Russia, Europe, and the US. He is also the founder and curator of Artemiro Gallery.
