The new year is in full swing, with many NYC artists launching fresh exhibitions to keep the art heartbeat going. Lori Horowitz is also back with a series of mid-winter art shows featuring her signature works created with the use of original materials and techniques. As an exhibitions chair for the NY Society of Women Artists and the Long Island Craft Guild, Horowitz is always active on the NY art stage, and this February is no exception. Here is a brief recap of the artist’s new exhibits that are currently on view in New York.
Oceanus New York: Bringing the World to Wall Street
Visit Oceanus New York to enjoy this fabulous space and an impressive selection of contemporary art by many talented artists, including three fresh artworks by Lori Horowitz. The exhibition started on December 13, 2024, and is available for public access from 10am to 6pm at 30 Wall Street.
The Art League of Long Island: Members' Exhibition Part II
Another place to enjoy Lori Horowitz’s works is the 68th Annual Members’ Exhibition Part II hosted by the Art League of Long Island, which is on view through February 28, 2025. Those who want to meet Lori in person can attend the festive award presentation scheduled for February 8, 2025. The artist will be receiving an honorable Award of Excellent in Sculpture at the Art League of Long Island for her “Aging” sculpture (featured image), a deeply symbolic work made of sculpted and patinated copper wire mesh. A juror for awards is Karli Wurzelbacher, PhD, the Chief Curator of The Heckscher Museum of Art.
Herstory: The Battle Continues 2025 at Viridian Artists
Lori Horowitz’s mixed-media relief titled “Venus Amongst Her Treasures” will be on display at Viridian Artists in New York. The artwork is part of a broader art exhibition titled “Herstory: The Battle Continues 2025,” dedicated to Women’s History Month, which is scheduled for February 25 – March 22, 2025.
