Recently, Fine Art Shippers was entrusted with supervising a complex Banksy mural relocation project. “Ghetto 4 Life,” an art piece created by Banksy in 2013 as part of his month-long art residency, was successfully transported from the Bronx, NY, to Bridgeport, CT, last week. Fine Art Shippers acted as a supervisor throughout the entire relocation process to ensure the artwork reached its destination safely. In 2019, we were also responsible for transporting another Banksy mural depicting a seal. Today, we are delighted to share the news that Fine Art Shippers was asked to evaluate the transportation of one more Banksy piece — the famous mural depicting a robot, which is currently located in Coney Island.
Fine Art Shippers Evaluated Another Banksy Mural Relocation Project
Like “Ghetto 4 Life,” the “robot” appeared in New York in 2013. That year, Banksy spent an entire month gracing the city with his creations. The graffiti was first spotted on October 28 at 1402 Neptune Avenue. As soon as it was confirmed that it was indeed a Banksy artwork, people rushed to Coney Island to check it out for themselves and take pictures. Not too long after, a metal gate was installed to protect the mural.
Many speculated about the meaning of the mural depicting a cartoon-like robot spray painting a barcode on a wall. Under the barcode lines, one could spot numbers, which turned out to be a nucleotide sequence for homo sapiens. It seems like this 2013 mural predicted the current state of the art world, where artificial intelligence has achieved heights that have never been seen before.
Fine Art Shippers is extremely honored to have been tasked with the evaluation of the Banksy mural relocation project. Our company is grateful to have been granted an opportunity to be involved in such an interesting and challenging project. We are happy to start handling more projects like this one in the future. As Fine Art Shippers successfully handled the transportation of two massive Banksy murals in the past and has just successfully delivered one of them, we firmly believe we are the best team for this job. Throughout the years, we have honed our skills to become the seasoned professionals we are today, and we are glad to see our expertise recognized.
We would also like to add that Banksy’s “robot” is currently for sale, which is great news for serious art collectors who want to own an authentic piece by the world-renowned street artist. If you are one of them, feel free to contact Fine Art Shippers for more information.
