There are many incredible design presentations and art installations at this year’s edition of Design Miami/ Basel. This important international show runs in Basel, Switzerland through June 16, bringing together some of the leading galleries, designers, and artists from around the world. The largest works are showcased at Design at Large, a special exhibition platform for oversized projects, performances, and video art. If you happen to be in Basel these days, we highly recommend that you visit the art installation presented at Design at Large by Etage Projects.
Etage Projects is an art and design gallery based in Copenhagen, Denmark. Specializing in a cross-aesthetic method, it is widely known for its outstanding projects that perfectly combine design, art, function, and abstraction. One of them is currently on view at Design Miami/ Basel, bringing to the show works by the Spanish designer Guillermo Santomà and the Danish artist FOS.
Following this year’s theme of Design at Large – “Elements: Earth,” Etage Projects has presented “A Million Times” video depicting a journey into the Arctic and a neon art installation “Leaking Fountain,” both created by FOS, and also a unique piano made of rough-hewn foam by Guillermo Santomà. All works explore the role of human beings, materials, and design in the epoch of the Anthropocene.
Overall, Etage Projects has made a great presentation at Design Miami/ Basel’s Design at Large. At Fine Art Shippers, we enjoyed visiting their art installation at the show, and we definitely recommend this superb gallery to everyone!
