Vian Borchert is back at the NYC-based gallery Lichtundfire with her beautiful abstract landscapes. This time, the artist participates in a group show titled “Beyond Horizon,” which represents a contemporary art exploration of the horizon theme. The exhibition, curated by Priska Juschka, is on view through April 26, 2025, giving all art lovers a chance to explore the hidden shades of the horizon’s visual esthetics.
“Beyond Horizon”: Esthetics of Natural Beauty
“Beyond Horizon” is a group show featuring works by 8 contemporary artists: Vian Borchert, Joyce Pommer, Bobbie Moline-Kramer, Martin Weinstein, Sandra Gottlieb, Philip Gerstein, Leslie Ford, and Barbara Bachner. Works by Vian Borchert, presented at the exhibition, include “Spectrum” (2020), “Identity” (2020), “Electric” (2020), and a more recent painting titled “Yellow Light” (2024).

Each of these artworks is the artist’s personal interrogation of the horizon theme and its significance in her life and exploration of the world. According to Vian Borchert’s commentary, the image of the horizon is a boundary between the known and the unknown, which demarcates the boundaries that must be crossed for the sake of new ventures. This concept is presented in all her paintings, projecting a sense of distance, perspective, and infinite possibilities.
