Fall in New York is traditionally filled with many large-scale art events, and the beginning of September 2024 will please all art aficionados with the return of the iconic art fair, Art on Paper New York. The event will be held on September 5-8, 2024, welcoming all paper-based art fans in one place. The VIP pass allows visitors to have exclusive early access to all exhibits one day before the opening, while the general public is welcomed to the art fair starting at 11am on September 6.
This year, Art on Paper will feature over 100 galleries, including the world-famous AC Latin Art Gallery from Argentina, Adamar Fine Arts from NYC, Art Mora from New Jersey, and Bertrand Productions from Philadelphia, among many others.
What Is Art on Paper New York?
For those of you who are new to this art fair, Art on Paper is the celebrated medium-driven fair traditionally held at Downtown Manhattan’s Pier 36. It is exclusively dedicated to paper-based art and unites over 100 galleries in a common drive to promote and reflect on the value of paper artwork.
The 2024 fair is the 10th edition of Art on Paper New York, which will become an anniversary show with many unique, iconic projects on display. This year, the art fair is curated by the talented artistic director Nato Thompson, an art expert deeply fascinated by the creative potential of paper.
Art on Paper 2024 Highlights
What are the must-see projects at Art on Paper this year? It’s the Shoestring Press Workshop presented by Shoestring Press, a live printing workshop that immerses visitors into the intricate world of traditional printing. The Two Bridge art project by Elise Ferguson, presented by Kingsland Editions, will represent a unique blend of sculpture, painting, and printmaking techniques to communicate the artist’s one-of-a-kind vision.
Fremin Gallery will arrive at the art fair with Cheng Ke Lin’s Clouds of Smoke-Radiance, a fantastic bamboo sculpture that symbolizes the elegance and exquisite esthetics of Asian traditional dance. Uprise Art Gallery will present Vocal Learning – Western Bluebird by Gail Tarantino, a painting that shares the artist’s birdwatching experience and displays Tarantino’s signature method of bird song vocalization through spectrograms.
