3 Shows Featuring Paintings by the Expressionist Artist Vian Borchert
Those living in New York City have an opportunity to view Vian Borchert’s works at Lichtundfire where they are exhibited as part of the new “Infinite Thunder” exhibition curated by Priska Juschka. Vian created new pieces specifically for the show, which is dedicated to the enigmatic natural phenomena of the Catatumbo Lightning. The expressionist artist found inspiration in the igniting beauty of lightning and thunder, which she interprets as both a nature’s miracle and a divine sign of doom. The exhibition will be on view at Lichtundfire through March 2, 2024.
In Washington, DC, Vian Borchert exhibits her works at the Monroe Gallery of The Arts Club of Washington. The artist’s famous series of blue paintings is part of the “Enlightenment” show curated by Dr. Erich Keel of the Kreeger Museum of Art in DC. In theme with the name of the exhibition, Vian’s pieces showcase her core belief that humans can connect and find light and harmony in their lives through art. A highly perceptive individual whose art always responds to the world around her, Vian Borchert presents her signature abstract paintings that perfectly reflect the calm serenity of light. The works will be on display at the Monroe Gallery of The Arts Club of Washington through February 24, 2024.
Finally, “Bowie Bash Amplified” is a show dedicated to the legacy of the legendary musician David Bowie, which is now on view at the National Liberty Museum in Philadelphia, PA. Among the featured works by Vian Borchert, there is a watercolor portrait of the British singer. Vian grew up listening to Bowie’s music, and her reverence for the late icon of rock is evident in her expressionist piece titled “Forever David Bowie.” The “Bowie Bash Amplified” exhibition runs at the Museum through April 8, 2024.
