New Abstract Skyscapes by Vian Borchert at Lichtundfire

The latest paintings by the talented artist Vian Borchert are already on view at Lichtundfire in NYC. The “Lemon Sky” exhibition is an ode of love to the color yellow and its mesmerizing qualities. Vian created her new abstract skyscapes exclusively for “Lemon Sky,” making each of them truly special and meaningful. Yellow is one of the colors that is closely associated with warmth and sun, so June seems like a great time to visit Lichtundfire and fall in love with summer all over again.

It is always a pleasure to share the beauty of Vian Borchert’s work with our readers. Vian has recently presented some of her new pieces as part of “Lemon Sky,” an exhibition featuring several abstract artists, each offering their interpretation of the color yellow, which has a surprisingly long history. For example, did you know that yellow ochre was one of the first colors that were available to artists? It is so ever-present in our daily life that you can probably name at least a couple of plants that naturally contain that pigment.

Vian Borchert’s abstract skyscapes fully encapsulate the diversity of yellow, with all its hues and undertones. Her choice of combining the central color of the exhibition with blue resulted in a hypnotizing representation of the subtle beauty of light. The paintings immediately transport you to a place that may remind you of a sunny beach. However, Vian does not aim to confine the audience to a set location. Instead, she evokes associations in one’s mind and lets one experience feelings and sensations unbound by specifics. “Limoncello,” “Lemon Zest,” “Transcendence,” and “Lemon Sky” — the titles of Vian Borchert’s paintings leave a crisp taste on your tongue and a calm happy feeling in your soul.
