Emotional Images and Faces in the Work of Iryna Fedorenko

What is a portrait? A portrait is an artistic representation of a person, usually focused on the face and its expression. Be it a painting, sculpture, or photograph, a portrait is an artwork that tells a story and shows the inner essence of the subject from the artist’s point of view. Portraiture is actually one of the oldest art forms that exist, the history of which goes back at least to ancient Egypt. However, to create a really good and meaningful portrait is not something that every artist can achieve. One of those who can is the prominent Ukrainian artist Iryna Fedorenko, whose art is full of emotional images and faces.

Iryna Fedorenko, aka Semira, is a contemporary Ukrainian artist who lives and works in Kyiv. In her work, Iryna Fedorenko combines a variety of painting techniques and artistic styles, often experimenting with different media. Her art is mainly focused on portraits, as she loves painting eyes. Eyes are the pathway to the soul. They reflect the inner world of the person, their feelings and intellect, being an endless source of inspiration for the talented artist. Hence, there are so many emotional images and faces in the work of Iryna Fedorenko.

Throughout her art career, Iryna Fedorenko has participated in many national and international exhibitions and shows in Europe, China, the United States, and Ukraine, including several exhibits at the Parliament of Ukraine. Two of her most recent shows were held at Artifact and the George Billis Gallery in New York, where the artist introduced her incredible collection of portraits. Iryna Fedorenko is now planning her next art exhibition in the United States, and, hopefully, we will be able to visit it after the coronavirus pandemic is over.
