Culturally Arts Collective presents Anatomy of Isolation, a new group exhibition available online from September 8 through December 1, 2026. The exhibition brings together artworks by international artists and can be explored through 3D virtual viewing, offering an immersive way to experience contemporary art beyond the traditional gallery space.
About Anatomy of Isolation
The concept behind Anatomy of Isolation is to transform the experience of isolation into sensation, form, and visual language. The exhibition explores how psychological states can be reflected through the human body and interpreted through figurative and symbolic imagery. Rather than presenting isolation solely as a physical condition, the participating artists approach it through abstract, implied, and metaphorical meanings.
The exhibition is curated by Olga Abramova and Andrea Maiello. Isabell Sliwinski serves as Executive Director, while Isabelle Grace Brett is the Creative Director. Together, they have developed a presentation centered on existential experience in contemporary figurative painting. The exhibition also revisits ideas associated with 20th-century post-war existentialism, including the writings of Jean-Paul Sartre and Albert Camus and their reflections on individual existence, alienation, and the human struggle to find meaning.
Participating Artists and Art Highlights
Anatomy of Isolation brings together the work of 25 artists from 12 countries. The exhibition is divided into two sections, each offering a distinct approach to the human condition.
The first section focuses on the School of London and its interest in figuration as a means of expressing psychological states. Layered paint, ghosting lines, and fragmented forms create figures that appear stripped of conventional physical detail, directing attention toward emotional and psychological expression. Olivier Forgues and Brittney Weiland are among the artists represented in this section.
The second section explores Neo-Expressionism, with a stronger emphasis on mythology, pressing social issues, and personal histories. Dan Isaila examines the relationship between memory and imagination, while Lilli Geyer explores authenticity and emotional expressiveness through her practice. Together, these works expand the exhibition’s exploration of isolation beyond the individual and toward broader questions of identity and human experience.
