At Fine Art Shippers, we have the pleasure of working with many talented artists, passionate art collectors, dedicated gallerists, and simply amazing people who love and appreciate art in all its many forms. We are proud of our ability to provide the highest quality fine art handling and art transportation services in the United States and beyond, helping the art community ship their precious works safely and securely. We love what we do, and we love meeting interesting people and visiting interesting places. For example, we had an amazing experience working with Alex Grey and The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors in Wappingers Falls, NY.
Alex Grey and The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors
Alex Grey (b. 1953) is a mystic visionary artist who works in installation art, process art, performance art, as well as creates truly amazing paintings and sculptures. He is also a teacher and an author of philosophical texts and monographs. While being a multifaceted artist, Alex Grey is, first and foremost, known for his sacred art portraying multiple dimensions of reality. His paintings depicting glowing anatomical human bodies represent an unusual combination of postmodern, visionary, and religious art, which makes them truly eye-catching and unique. Alex Grey’s most famous series of works is “Sacred Mirrors.” It is permanently exhibited at The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors (CoSM) in Wappingers Falls, NY.
Founded in 1996 by Alex Grey and his wife, the talented painter Allyson Grey, The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors is a non-profit organization supporting Visionary Culture. Built as a Sanctuary of Visionary Art, it is aimed at uplifting the global community through the practice of art as a spiritual path. CoSM also serves as an exhibition space where the visitors can enjoy the beautiful and inspiring art by Alex Grey and other talented artists.
At Fine Art Shippers, we are happy to have met Alex Grey. It was a fabulous experience for our team to work with this exceptional artist and help him and CoSM with art logistics. Hopefully, we will do it again in the future!
