Vian Borchert is back with new exhibitions and shows. Let’s take a look at the art events you don’t want to miss this holiday season.

December is a joyful, festive month packed with exciting art events and exhibitions. Vian Borchert, a contemporary abstract expressionist artist, invites everyone to visit some of them in New York and beyond. So, let’s take a look at the art exhibitions you don’t want to miss this holiday season.

Vian Borchert’s Selected Paintings at Lichtundfire

This December, Lichtundfire, a contemporary art gallery conveniently located in the Lower East Side, is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a series of events. One of them is a group exhibition titled “ARIADNE’s CREST: Ad Astra | To the Stars,” featuring works by Vian Borchert, who has been a long-standing friend and partner of the gallery. Visitors can view the newest paintings by the artist, including “Threshold,” “Portara,” “Columns of the Temple of Apollo,” and “Gateway to Sea,” each of which explores the wonders of Greek mythology and its chief deities. The exhibition runs at Lichtundfire through January 3, 2026.

Beyond the Horizon: Art Exhibition in Washington, DC

One of Vian Borchert’s paintings is displayed at the Watergate Gallery in Washington, DC, as part of the group exhibition “Beyond the Horizon.” The exhibition opened its doors on December 6, 2025, and is available for viewing through February 28, 2026. The work presented at the show is a 2024 acrylic painting titled “Clouds Over Ocean,” which welcomes thoughtful introspection and contemplation over what our life journey holds for us beyond the horizon.

From Aqua Art Miami to the Venice Biennale

Aqua Art Miami, which took place during Miami Art Week, is already over, but the exhibition presented at the event by SHIM Art Network is worth mentioning. Titled "Social Justice," it was curated by Amy Jackson and targeted the subversive theme of persisting social inequalities through art. Vian Borchert’s 2025 painting “Electrical” was part of the show, consonant with the theme of human connection and understanding as a fundamental basis of social justice. The artwork will also be presented at the 2026 Venice Biennale, scheduled for August 14 – September 14.
