Culturally Arts Collective is back with a grand announcement. A new group exhibition titled “In Liminal Light: The Space Between” is already on view at the virtual epicenter for art and creativity, the Milostka Center for Exhibitions. The digital show, which started on May 1, will be on display until July 31, 2025. This truly captivating art exhibition offers a unique exploration of ambiguous realms of human existence in the areas where the real and the ephemeral converge in the depths of human memory and experience.
“In Liminal Light: The Space Between” – Celebration of the Unspoken
The basis of the exhibition’s concept is Victor Turner’s theory of liminality – a state of non-being in-between. This state is typical for people who have already abandoned their previous status but have not yet acquired a new one. This unique condition of transitional non-being charmed the exhibition’s curators, Abigail Bruno and Isabelle Grace Brett, with Isabell Sliwinski adding her artistic direction input to the show. The organizers were specifically concerned about revealing the unspoken and undefined dimensions of human experience. They employed a wide range of media to render these ideas, from oil and acrylic to watercolor, wood, metal, and glass.
As a result of such meticulous planning and organization, “In Liminal Light: The Space Between” has turned into a fascinating journey around the nuances of human conditions. Artworks that come together in one creative space exhibit intricate interplay of light and shadow, reality and imagination, and the ephemeral and eternal dimensions of existence. They invite the viewers to pause and think over the “in-between” spaces that define their lives and create ambiguities and uncertainties around the present and past experiences.
“In Liminal Light: The Space Between” features artworks by 20 artists from 10 countries, representing the artist community of four continents. It offers a one-of-a-kind aesthetic experience of personal identity exploration, fragmented memory reconstruction, and human vulnerabilities. The exhibition also maps communal connections through the universal visual language of art.
