New York is fairly regarded as one of the world’s art hubs, and the Fall’24 season is starting with a significant event – VOLTA New York. This year, the art fair unifies 50 galleries from over 18 countries, giving a unique opportunity to embrace the emerging trends and voices in contemporary art. The fair will take place at Chelsea Industrial, which is only 10 minutes of walking distance from the Javits Center.
The 16th edition of VOLTA is curated by Lee Cavaliere, whose main emphasis is on artistic collaboration and dialogue, meaning that the upcoming art fair will present visitors with many impressive projects and initiatives.
Who Will Be Present at VOLTA New York 2024?
The 2024 edition of VOLTA will have two major spaces: the Town Square, with collaborative projects of emerging galleries, and the Ukrainian Pavilion, with contemporary Ukrainian artworks from six galleries, including Dymchuk Gallery, The Naked Room, and Ya Gallery, among others.
The celebrity gallery lineup includes Mandy Zhang Art and Blond Contemporary from London, Marion Chauvy Gallery from Paris, uJung Art Center from Seoul, and O Art Project from Lima. The fair features dozens of well-known American art galleries as well, including ART AXCESS Gallery, Accola Griefen Fine Art, Artunified, and PDX Contemporary, among others. Since the event takes place in New York, it also welcomes famous NYC galleries, such as Mothership NYC, Black & White Project Space, and Cheryl Molnar Projects.
Another highlight of this year’s VOLTA is the evening with Sotheby’s Institute of Art’s keynote speakers on September 6. The institute’s leading experts will discuss the future of art collecting amid the rising trends of democratized art buying and digital innovations.
The visitors can also attend the discussion panel with Lee Cavaliere, dedicated to new ways of art dealing, or enjoy a live performance by the multidisciplinary artist Ellen Frances, accompanied by readings by JoAnne McFarland.
